I source seed and plants from many of South Africa's top growers/breeders. Many of these individuals do not have websites, making it difficult to acquire their seed. 2010 will be my first year to actually visit South Africa and the breeders I represent. I hope to add many more of them to my list of sources for plants and seed.
I have recently seen many of the seed I offer listed on eBay by other "sellers" at twice the price. My guarantee is simple: I will sell seed at the lowest possible cost (consider postage fees, phyto certificates for plants, etc). One of the ways I can sell cheaper is this website. I will guarantee all seed I sell to sprout. For more information on growing the seed see our Clivia Care section.
My oldest Clivia is a miniata of probable Belgian decent. She was purchased at a home improvement store some 25 years ago. My current interest in Clivia began some 4 years ago when I noticed that the Clivia seemed to survive no matter what conditions she encountered. I have moved this plant all over the USA. Three years ago I became aware that although the Clivia was surviving, many (if not most) of my orchids were not. This sparked a new interest in Clivia, with the purchase of some South African Clivia seed. I then began importing seed for sale. 2010 saw the beginning of my importation of Clivia plants for resale..... and so my business was begun "Woodside Cottage Clivias". I currently grow Clivia mostly for my own enjoyment. I do have various plants for sale. If you have a particular plant or seeds in mind, shoot me an email. I am generally able to source any seed/plant I do not have on hand.
Woodside Cottage Clivias is a cooperative. I have arrangements with many top breeders. I am interested in developing a "one stop shop". If you have seed to sell, I am interested in discussing the options with you. You do not have to be South African nor must your plants or seeds necessarily be South African in origin. I also collect and sell many other plants.
